Have a look inside!

16 August 2012

Having a look inside at the creatives houses, that's what Todd Sellby is doing sinds 2008 with The Selby , in a way that internationally boosted him. Strong photography, combined with the nicest houses and most creative people. In 2010 that resulted in a book, which of course, we very quickly bought.

It's not only 'hot' to take pictures of the interiors, but as well to show what everybody wants to know: which books are you reading, what does the wardrobe look like, which are the smell items on the side table, and ... who lives there?

Some time ago the young photographer Eline Ros was one of the last to photograph our house. Quite a challenge she had, because for her project, she delivered only one interior picture and one portrait. A strong result, of which you can see the first preview of portraits in De Invasie Magazine.

But what makes me even more curious, definitely after three years of De Invasie, is what the workspaces of these young designers, looks like. No matter what they design, these are the places where they spend the most of their time, hopefully inspired by their surroundings. It was a quick decision: this very first De Invasie Magazine would open up the doors of these young designers' workspaces, as well as the one of one our most important Antwerp designers.

I hope you're as surprised by our warriors as I was by Grain & Gram: the website of some friends to inspire, and support craftmanship by showing their way of working and opening up their workspaces.

But why not show it in real? That's exactly the reason why, in October, amidst a fifty-headed army, some 20 warriors of De Invasie will move their workspace to the BUDA-island for 'The Battle', our project during Interieur Kortrijk. Seeing young designers make their products, hearing it, smelling, feeling and touching materials.... I'm damn curious already.
